Part 1 (CB Part 5, Reel 2): Canadian troops bombard and capture Bologne (September 20). 7,500 prisoners are gathered. Rockets are fired and German mines are detonated near Brest (SFR only). Le Havre is bombed and captured by British troops. Tanks cross mine fields and shoot fire. Shows wreckage and the surrender of the city. Part 2: Shows captured positions near Ostend, Belgium, including an airport camouflaged as a village. Part 3 (SFR Reel 2; CB Part 1): The 5th Army advances toward Futa Pass. Italians bring supplies on mules. Artillery, tanks, mortars, and machine guns open fire; troops advance (September 23). Shows overrun position near Pisa. Part 4 (CB Reel 2): B-29's take off, fly, and land at a secret Asian base. Describes the size and capabilities of the plane. General Stilwell and General Saunders confer. Part 5 (CB Part 3, Reel 1): Morotai, Neth. Indies, is invaded. Tanks and amphibians are waterproofed in Australia. Ships bombard the island; troops land unopposed (September 15). MacArthur wades ashore and inspects the base. Part 6 (Reel 3): Tanks blast Nancy, France, and 3rd Army troops advance. French troops battle for Epinal. POW's bury their dead. Part 7: 1st Army troops battle near Aachen, Germany, breaking the Siegfried Line. Shows anti-tank ditches, barriers, and pillboxes. Part 8: British troops capture Eindhoven and Nymegan, Neth. Explosives are removed from a large bridge over the Waul River.
